OF POISON AND GRIEF (Four Litanies For The Deceased)

by Aphonic Threnody

/
1.
LYRICS Undertakers lowering the coffin into the tomb. Open grave emanating the reek of the after death. A man joining his brothers and sisters. Thirteen corpses in that last house of pain. Ropes abandoning a newcomer in the arcane crypt. From an hole in the ground, Like into mother earth's womb. The other relatives silently awaiting, For the newcomer to join them all in their tormented world. Thirteen corpses. All nailed in their coffins. By men afraid of grim dead bodies coming back to life. Over fifty feet under the ground they're resting, In a dark pit like hell they won't return. Buried deep. In a bleak bottomless pit, The last boundary of no return. Thirteen candles burning in darkness. Waiting for their blood. To join them in the underworld. From an hole in the ground, like into mother earth's womb. The other relatives silently awaiting. Thirteen candles, thirteen corpses. Nailed in their coffins, burning in darkness.

REVIEWS
"First atmospheric streams of keyboards gradually gain strength, acquiring by the gloomy whisper and a shrill terrible roar of the vocalist Roberto Mura. This track has such melodics which is difficult to be described by the words. The arrangements are entered ideally in the style range of album, excellent powerful grouling, heavy rhythm section with the guitars breaking by the violent force the cold, measured keyboards... in my mind come Pantheist of times of epic creation "O Solitude" and isn't casual as musicians of Aphonic Threnody once had good luck to work with Kostas Panagiotu therefore the influence is obvious in spite despite the fact that Aphonic Threnody have "the person view." - Artmania Journal Blogspot

"Aphonic Threnody are strong, in the mourning of the path and already proven performers, working a luxurious, glamorous, sophisticated Funeral Doom Metal. "Bury Them Deep" brings to mind endless vision, crosses and bleak tombstones. The first atmospheric keys gradually gaining strength, with Moody whispering and a terrible roar from the vocalist Roberto Mura. This track is recreated in this melody, which is difficult to describe in words. Arrangements, are inscribed in the style range of split, a great powerful growling, heavy rhythm section with guitars, its frantic force is cold, dimensional keyboards. What comes to mind is earlier Pantheist times that challenges to the creation of "O Solitude" and not surprisingly, the Aphonic musicians had once had the luck to work with Kostas Panagiotu, so the influence is evident". - GSP Magazine

Aphonic Threnody England, UK

"Fueled by a supremely bitter and very primal growl, this is the kind of doom band who capture the heart and then drag it to hell. Incredibly emotional in their raw heaviness, this is what doom should be about."
